The Suite Life on Deck star Brenda Song has recently opened up in an interview with Scholastic about directing and being behind the camera. The Scholastic Magazine reporter said:
Q: What do you want to do five years from now?
Brenda: I love what I do. I love working and Disney’s been good to me, but I hope I keep making films and shows. And I’ve been really lucky with this show, especially it being so successful — I got to really watch what goes on on the set. I have a great production coordinator who lets me sit upstairs and see how a set really works. I have a director that will let me shadow him and see what it’s like. I could never be a full-time director because I’m too much of a perfectionist, but I’ve really gotten to expand my education and knowledge of Hollywood being on this show. Not just being an actress but being behind the camera. I never know — I like to keep all my doors open, but I love to work. Just keep learning and see where it takes me.
Song, 21, has starred in numerous teen films such as Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, Stuck in the Suburbs, Like Mike and College Road Trip. At the age of 17, the hazel-eyed brunette landed her own Disney Channel series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody which spawned a large franchise and earned her the title ‘Queen of Disney’.
The twenty one-year old starlet has also been involved behind the scenes in her 2008 adventure film, Special Delivery. Song began her career as a child fashion model, then became a film and television actress. She is also a martial artist and writer.
Song is set to hit the big screen this year, starring in the major theatrical films The Social Network (Columbia Pictures, David Fincher directs) and Boogie Town (Vivendi, Chris Stokes directs).

The Suite Life of Teddy
Even though Teddy doesn’t live in a hotel like Brenda Song’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody dog Yvonna, he lives a pretty sweet life. He is loved (and spoiled) by all of the members of his family, especially his “Mommy” Brenda Song. “He’s not even our puppy, he’s our baby,” says Song of Teddy. Song also argues with her brother over who will get Teddy when they move out; she says she gets to keep Teddy because he is her baby. “I feel sometimes that… I birthed Teddy.”
Ladies, take note: Teddy is quite the mama’s boy. Says Song, “For all the holidays, we buy Teddy gifts and Teddy buys us gifts. Last year, I got a Wish necklace with a dog bone that says “I Love Mommy”, and I have a big frame that says “Teddy Loves Mommy”.” She’s also very protective of her baby. “I haven’t met a puppy good enough for my Teddy yet… Teddy will always be mine. I’ll be the only girl in his life.”
